What is BOTOX®?

BOTOX®, the most commonly done aesthetic procedure worldwide, is an injectable treatment derived from a purified protein. It exerts its effect via muscle relaxation and prevents muscles from contracting into a wrinkle. A few minute injections can erase your fine lines and wrinkles and take years off your face.

How is the procedure done?

A few drops of BOTOX® are injected with a tiny needle into the particular muscle, blocking the transmission of nerve impulses. Without nerve stimulation the muscle gradually weakens and the wrinkles reduce, giving you a more relaxed appearance.

How long does BOTOX® last?

Botox achieves its optimum results within 7 to 10 days and lasts and average of 4 to 6 months. The effect of Botox gradually reduces after 3 months and muscle strength slowly returns. When the line / wrinkle starts to reappear, a simple repeat treatment is all that is necessary to maintain the desired result. After several injections, the effects last longer and treatments may only need to be performed again once every 6 months.
