Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) a.k.a Vampire Lift

With increasing age, our skin becomes more vulnerable to the effects of excess sun exposure. Chronic exposure to sun and the reduction in our skin’s capacity to regenerate itself leads to uneven skin tone and pigmentation changes such as age spots and melasma. The outer skin (epidemis) also gradually thins resulting in thinner and more translucent skin. These changes, coupled with loss of hyaluronic acid, results in dull looking skin.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is an excellent anti-aging therapy. It harnesses growth factors from platelets in the blood. Within our platelets are granules containing >30 bioactive. Prominent examples include platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1, 2, epidermal growth factor, angiogenesic growth factor and fibrinogen. These growth factors stimulate new skin growth and collagen deposition, resulting in more vibrant and glowing skin. Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 in particular, inhibits melanin activity and suppresses pigmentation.

As PRP is a completely natural treatment, there is absolutely no risk of adverse reactions developing. Generally 4-6 sessions are recommended for a significant improvement of the pigmentation.
